Static IP with wired tether #14

I have a static IP address assigned to my phone through my wireless
provider and would like to be able to use that IP with the laptop I tether
the phone with easily or be able to forward ports on the local network
created by wired tether. Is that something that I could do easily with the
current source? or could be added fairly easily?
