I've always suspected that chip is a PIC12 running proprietary FFT or FHT code, but of course there's no reason for the manufacturer to release the source. Point being you might be able to recreate it on an ATTiny with some R&D, but probably not quickly.

If I remember correctly it's actually a bunch of notch filters.

There are some decent FFT libraries. I'll be working on that this weekend.
