Be able to plug in new PID values through the dashboard and have a save button to save entered values to the prefs (work with the shuffleboard issue(s) if needed). This would make PID tuning easier as you don't need to rebuild every time. Look into LiveWindow for shuffleboard. Check with @LizzyMilford to see if the final product will work efficiently/effectively for tuning.
