Aims the aim is to replace the exterior gray cockpit lod with something that is less of an eye sore

How do you envision this feature being implemented? to reduce the distraction that is a blank gray cockpit would be to replace the cockpit with anything from medium detail to high detail, one way you could go about this is to take the interior lod as is, remove the high detail parts such as mpd points and replace anything with a lower detail if possible to have a reasonable poly count, additional work would need to be created for the sides and behind the seat that is not current on the interior lod for the exterior replacement

What modifications need to be made in order to provide the functionality the exterior cockpit lod/proxy

This would require both 3D model and texture work.
