Also this is a side question, but I assume the papers on how the solutions were made / some workflow will be made public after the competition?

To your second question, the finalists' solutions will need to be described in a technical report, and also presented in-person before the Technical Review Committee at the ACM Web Conference. If the reports are found to be of sufficient quality, they will be eligible for publication, subject to the finalists' consent. Please see the Prizes and Conditions subsection under Technical Details for more information.
