Changes lost on slow initial creation of component #215

To Reproduce

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Create a new component, e.g. a connection between two nodes
  2. Before the save has completed, click on "Invert effect".
  3. Notice that when it does save the change is lost / overwritten

Expected behavior

Change should be incorporated and a second saving process started.
