Akasha never stops syncing... #332

Hello Team, Am wondering if anyone can help me please?? I have tried to install Akasha (on my Linux AMD64 system) on three separate occasions. The first time; 'syncing' blew out my data cap. Changed plans and tried again and 'syncing' never ever stopped. Here is my beef: I had absolutely ZERO control of what was being uploaded from my computer - it took so long that I expect my entire hard drive was copied and is \out there somewhere... This felt like an entirely invasive colonoscopy that perforated my bowel, pierced my liver, punctured my lungs and penetrated my heart to suck my blood directly. Not good at all. After three days of synching without getting to the other side full of promises and joy, I gave it up... felt like the worst viral assault I have ever had... can anyone suggest how I can install this without feeling so VIOLATED??

The app stopped working after Rinkeby hard fork, please use the web version until we provide an update to address this. https://beta.akasha.world Please note that you will need Metamask extension

If you need any help please ask here

PS. None of your data was copied during the sync process!! The app doesn't copy anything to anywhere :). When you post something on AKASHA you actually sharing ONLY that specific data inside the IPFS network!

Thank you for that Seves... at least some of my concerns have been abated. I will stick this out as I am totally keen on this and want to see it going off. Mainstream Social Media sucks completely and I seek to be a vital part of this new revolution...

I've been waiting on that initial app sync for a 24 hours now! Please add a note abou the issue to https://github.com/AkashaProject/Community/releases/tag/0.7.2 to help save future folk some time.

I still see this issue using an .AppImage. Please report if any setup need to be done to fix this. For now I will be using web version.
