In this half-day training, we will familiarize you with the basics and guide you through the day-to-day work of a real data analyst: Gabriel. He is a trained journalist who has decided to change careers and now works as a data analyst. Together we will look at two practical case studies in which Gabriel effectively analyzes data and prepares it in a visually appealing way. (10:30 - 12:00) AFTER AI-assisted Coding: Increasing Code Quality and Efficiency (conducted by SAXONY.ai) In the rapidly evolving world of software development, the integration of large language models such as GPT4 or WizardCoder into programming practice has become increasingly essential. The training dives into the world of AI-assisted Python programming and provides comprehensive learning content aimed at improving participants' programming skills. The main focus is on using AI tools to improve existing code bases, simplify complex code to increase readability and maintainability, and write effective test cases that ensure code robustness. In addition, the training provides insights into increasing code efficiency, optimizing performance and reducing resource consumption. A significant part is dedicated to debugging techniques that enable participants to quickly identify and fix code anomalies using AI-driven approaches. The training is designed as an interactive and hands-on learning experience and equips participants with the necessary skills to integrate AI into their programming practices, resulting in higher quality and efficient software development. We will show how to share and collaborate on data, especially source code. The aim of the exercise is to give participants a feel for how they can use tools such as git, git pull-requests and git issues to manage small and large software projects online. (11:00 - 15:00) | OpenScience, Licensing, Copyright (hosted by ScaDS.AI) We will dive into the world of Open Science and define terms such as Open Source, Open Access and the FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reuasable). We will discuss how these methods of [scientific] communication and data management are changing the world and how we can practically integrate them into our work. Aspects such as copyright and licensing will play an important role. (11:00 - 15:00) | Building knowledge graphs with eccenca Corporate Memory (conducted by eccenca GmbH) In this 1.5-hour tutorial, we will provide a brief introduction to the enterprise knowledge graph platform eccenca Corporate Memory. Within the session, all participants will use the brand new eccenca.my service to create their own eccenca Corporate Memory instance, learn how to build and visualize knowledge graphs and receive further training material for self-learning on the topic. This tutorial is particularly interesting for participants of the Leipzig Semantic Web Day, but not only for them. Participants with no prior knowledge of knowledge graphs and the Semantic Web can use this event as a demonstration session, while experts in the field will be provided with practical material.
