What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Using Linux
2. Installing the HUD

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected to work same as other OS, but unable to work without editing files.

I have it all explained here, along with fix.  Just posting here so people who 
might stumble across this can get it working without too much effort!
