Sidecar can't run correctly. #13

I upgrade my ryzen hackintosh from Mojave(10.14.6) to the Catalina(10.15.0) and it work well. I want to test the Sidecar. It can run, but only show black screen on my iPad (Ipad mini 5). I google this problem and find some people said that the Sidecar needs Intel iGPU(https://www.reddit.com/r/hackintosh/comments/dbvm04/hackintosh_ipad_sidecar/) . Anyone have some ideas to fix this problem? My hardware and settings are : CPU: 3700x Motherboard: B450 GPU: Vega 56 SMBIOS: iMacPro1,1 kexts file: Lilu Whatevergreen

Try with SMBios iMac19,1. Reported to work on AMD OS X Forum, https://forum.amd-osx.com/viewtopic.php?p=51944#p51944

At the moment, you'll need an Intel iGPU or a T2 chip to use Sidecar, as it completely bypasses apples own encoding framework AppleGVA. So, in the hope of a fix for AMD-GPUs, nothing possible right now, but also not AMD-CPU-related.

Actually, if you're using the iMac19,1 SMBIOS it should work so long as you're using an AMD GPU.

Did you successfully tried that? In my experience it only worked of there is an (HEVC-capable) Intel iGPU available.

i tried iMac19,1, however it doesn't work

Still a problem, tried iMac19,1 and it didn't work either. Ryzen 5 1600, Gigabyte AB350 GAMING, Vega 56, Apple BCM943602CS wireless card

iGPU should not be required as iGPU-less iMac models are capable of Sidecar.

as iGPU-less iMac models are capable of Sidecar.

Only those with T2 which does the stream encoding in that case.

The current "solution" for Sidecar on AMD is using an iMac19,x or iMac20,x SMBIOS, installing FeatureUnlock.kext, and running the command in the FeatureUnlock README. This is not recommended because iMac SMBIOSes expect an Intel iGPU, which obviously AMD processors don't have.
