We should switch the license to Apache to protect the software more in the future. Apache has indeed the added "software-patent-abusers-self-destruct" clause, and for the rest it is the same as MIT in every practical way.
This way, any new developments will be more protected, and the old forks and releases will always remain available under MIT.
Update the NOTICE and .zenodo.json files accordingly.
