I have gone through the open issues and I think and believe my issue is unique and different from other issues. So I request you to assign me this.
you mean a glossary ?
My idea is somewhat related to a glossary but goes beyond it. While a glossary typically provides definitions, my suggestion of using infographics adds a visual and interactive layer. Infographics would not only define words but also explain their usage, relationships, and context in a more engaging and accessible way, catering to diverse learning styles. This enhances the learning experience, making it more dynamic than a traditional glossary.
hey , we are trying to make this an actual blogging application instead of a hard-coded one , so how are you going to decide what terms to include in this infographics ?
suppose im writing a blog with some complicated words which actually do need an explanation , but how will the infograph be updated with the content of my blog ?
That's a great point! To make the infographics dynamic and relevant to the blog content, I’m thinking of implementing a feature that detects complex words as you write your blog. Here’s how I envision it working:
Natural Language Processing (NLP): I could integrate NLP to scan the blog in real-time and identify complicated or less common words that may need extra explanation. This way, the system would automatically pick out words that would benefit from an infographic.
Dynamic Infographic Generation: Once those words are identified, the system can pull information from a database or an external API to automatically generate an infographic. It would include the word’s definition, usage, synonyms, and even visual elements like word origins or relationships with other words.
Customization: I also want to give bloggers control by letting them manually choose words for infographics. You could highlight words in your blog that you think need extra clarification, ensuring the content remains personalized for your readers.
This approach would make the infographics dynamic, automatically updating based on the blog’s content, and would create a seamless experience for both bloggers and readers.
okay ,sounds great ! keep a check for when the backend is ready and then you can implement this
all these features sound awesome , I would love to see them in work ! be ready with the relevant external APIS while the backend is being made
I will surely try.
hey @snehas-05 , the frontend and backend have been made , make sure you integrate the infographics feature to the frontend folders frontend and not the root directory one
we have two frontend 1) using vite - this is where you need to integrate the infographics feature - this frontend hasnt been hosted yet 2) the one thats been hosted (using html css js ) the vite frontend is still under work hence we arent hosting it right now !
all the best
Actually I have made a separate folder in which I have placed my frontend and backend files.. Can you please explain to me what you are saying as I don't understand.
this is where you have to work - https://github.com/ANSHIKA-26/WordWise/tree/main/frontend
make another route for info graphics
Okay
hey @snehas-05 any progress ?
@ANSHIKA-26 heyy actually I tried alot to figure out the link you have provided me, it contains a frontend folder, am I supposed to place my frontend files there? If yes then what about backend files?
If you explain me once clearly, I will be thankful to you.
the backend files go in the backend folder , you just integrate the infographics feature to the frontend made in react and not the one in html
I propose adding infographics to the WordWise website to visually explain complex words and concepts. Infographics are powerful tools that combine visuals and concise text to present information clearly and engagingly. Here’s why this enhancement would significantly benefit our users:
Visual Learning: Many users find it easier to understand and retain information when it is presented visually. Infographics can simplify complex vocabulary by breaking down definitions, usage, and examples into easily digestible elements.
Enhanced Engagement: Incorporating colorful and interactive infographics can make the learning experience more enjoyable. Users are likely to spend more time on the site and explore more words when engaging visuals are available.
Contextual Understanding: Infographics can provide contextual information, such as synonyms, antonyms, and example sentences, in a visually appealing format. .
Word Relationships: Infographics can illustrate the origins of words and their relationships with other words, enhancing users' understanding of vocabulary through visual storytelling.
Accessibility: Infographics can cater to different learning styles, making our content more accessible to a wider audience, including visual learners and those with reading difficulties.
