How are ratios, indices and calculations represented? Specify the related elements or not? #35

It does not always make sense of is not easy to specify the analyte a procedure measures

as example - ratios calculations (including indices) indirect methods for example where 'Pressure of CO2' is used as an 'equivalent' for CaCo3 method 19B2 (proxies and indirect measurements are used often in biological soil measures btw)

Is which chemists as to whether they wish to specify related analytes. Not a priority

Graham's feedback re what is being measured is not phosphorus itself but a ratio or index, makes me wonder if there is a place/need for putting method types (or gives result type).

Regardless, the observable properties should be reviewed in light of Graham's feedback eg Colwell-P/PBI (ColP) ratio - this could be 'phosphorus ratio' . What could be regarded as the method ie Colwell and PBI should not be in part of the physical entity compound (if following NERC example https://vocab.nerc.ac.uk/collection/S29/current/ )
