What steps will reproduce the problem?
Following  Equation could not be solved in online Symja Application 
Solve[a+2x==0,x] 

What is the expected output?
{{x->(-1/2)*a}}

 What do you see instead?
Error:
Error in evaluateString: a

Solution:

Symbol.java  class not override the method negate();

Code:
@Override
    public IExpr negate() {
        return F.function(F.Times, F.CN1, this);
    }
