Cotton is different.. The variable is "stage" but it doesnt look like there is any breakdown into phases. mike bange (at csiro) might be able to help
Sorry, I've been told mike works for grdc now.
Brian Hearn’s original publication is very useful - Hearn, A.B. 1994. OZCOT: A Simulation Model for Cotton Crop Management. Agricultural Systems 44: 257-299. fyi - a few years ago, the agmip people from Pk made new cultivars, but it was a challenging process.
OZCOT - the crop model behind APSIM-Cotton - is a fruiting dynamics driven model. Most of the reporting variables relate to fruit development. As Pete said, the "stage" and "stageName" are the reporting variables that will indicate where the crop's growth has progressed to. The attached file is a listing of the stages available for reporting. APSIM-CottonStages.txt
If reporting at the end of the season, then the variables "firstSquareDAS", "firstFlowerDAS", "firstOpenBollDAS" and "defol_das" are generally sufficient to report on how the crop has matured.
Model parameters affecting phenological development are generally reportable, but not in all cases. Please ask if you are looking for some specific value/variable.
In APSIM Continuous Irrigated Cotton simulation in the output file variables grid, there is no parameters of phenology stages or phases. But for other crops in APSIM model it is available. Any suggestion how to add/drag cotton phenology parameters in output file columns ? See the image attached to better understand my question.
