Some future ideas.

Introduction

Below is a list of some ideas that could be implemented in the future. Some of the things could be in their own mod (probably called "Airport Fundamentals") but airutils already have the PAPI and Wind Direction Indicator built-in.

Ideas

• Radar Radar would be nice for servers or anyone who wants to track the positions of aircraft. There could be a digilines api to allow people to query the aircraft and their positions / other information.
  • Radar screen This will could the display api from display modpack and display radar information on the surface of the screen similar to the digiterms mod.
• Transponders These would be attached to aircraft and provide more information about the aircraft (like callsign, altitude ...) on radar screens.
• ATC Air traffic control would allow servers to organise their flights and make sure they are going the correct way. This could have support for your ppt_talk mod or other automated solutions.
• Airports I'm not sure what would class an area to be an "Airport" but players would have a to designate an area as an airport. You could look at Airport CEO for inspiration.
• Flight Scheduling This would be useful for servers that want pilots to fly aircraft across designated routes.
  • Airlines Players would be able to create an airline. Airlines could have their own colour schemes, names and logos. Airlines could hire other players to be employees. Like on servers, airlines could grant employees privileges, for example "pilot".
  • Flight / Flight planner This would be used by airline managers to create flights, set their arrival / destination airports. Flights could cost money or be free. The price will be determined by the airline. This could use the currency api.
  • Flight info boards These would be placed inside airports to display information about the flight again using the display api from display modpack.

Conclusion

This would take a while to implement but it would turn airutils / sub mods into a "unique" Minetest mod. I haven't seen mods like this before, on Minetest or Minecraft.

Some of them are planned, and some new ideas are interesting too, sometimes I'll read this to try to make some of them. Thank you! But the radar someone made it, see the mapserver support for the planes!
