String-based APIs are deprecated from mbed-os-5.15

@jeromecoutant , could you help us get this merged, please? The change should be transparent to any existing applications and it would let us move forward with the mbed-os PR pending.

@jeromecoutant started on a non-regression test session - if results are good it should be merged today I guess.
