Microsoft Tenant Changes - JSON File Importing #6

Open ShadowITServices opened 5 months ago

Good evening!

This is not an issue as much as a feature request on behalf of all IT administrators in Australia.

I think this would get so much more value add if the ASD Blueprint for Secure Cloud had corresponding JSON files that could be imported directly into Microsoft tenants.

I understand that this would have significant overhead from a resource capacity perspective; however, I'd love to able to contribute and enable more Australian IT Professionals navigate these changes.

If this is something that the ASD would be interested in, please reach out to me at beau.dean@shadowit.com.au and I'll see what JSON file templates we can streamline; provided there is an appetite for this.

Hi Beau and ShadowITServices,

We are currently working on Desired State Configuration (DSC) files to enable administrators to import the recommended configuration in the Blueprint (noting organisations may need to deviate from these recommendations in-line with their specific requirements and context) into their Microsoft 365 tenants and hope to publish these in the coming months under the Tools section.

While there are some aspects of configuration that can’t be addressed through DSC currently, we have added this to our list of future feature requests and will continue to update the tooling provided alongside the Blueprint based on feedback and prioritisation.

Please keep an eye on the Tools section of the Blueprint and let us know if this helps!

Hi @ShadowITServices - just a heads up that we uploaded our initial release of the DSC files last week. Noting that this provides partial automation of the Blueprint configuration. As @RebelliousBadger mentioned above, we know that this does not provide full automation, but hope that this is useful for you while we explore further deployment mechanisms in the future.

Really keen to hear your thoughts on what we have provided thus far, and if you have any suggestions on priorities as we move forward as well.
