Questions about "--parameter-file" #283

Hello professor, I have some questions about the parameter file in "--parameter-file". For example, does the "0120m" in "autorift_solidearth_0120m.shp" refer to the resolution of 120 meters?

Secondly, is it suitable for application in coal mining subsidence areas?

Looking forward to your reply! Thank you.

The underlying autoRIFT software relies on numerous configuration parameters, as detailed at the bottom of the Usage Instructions.

The --parameter-file option for hyp3-autorift allows the user to provide an ESRI shapefile (or other file format) detailing the specific parameters to use for a given application area. Features within the shapefile can be used to specify different parameters for different regions of the earth.

For example, the parameter file at s3://its-live-data/autorift-parameters/v001/autorift_landice_0120m.shp provides parameters tuned for measuring land ice velocity, used by the ITS_LIVE project to generate their image-pair velocities dataset.

I'm not familiar with the specifics of the autorift_solidearth_0120m.shp parameter file. You might inquire with the autoRIFT maintainers; I see https://github.com/nasa-jpl/autoRIFT/issues/91 that might be a place to start.

@alex-s-gardner or @jhkennedy , do you have anything to add?

@alex-s-gardner or @jhkennedy , do you have anything to add? Hello, Professor! Thank you for your patience. I agree with your point - "Features within the shapefile can be used to specify different parameters for different regions of the earth", but I don't know how to obtain this specific shapefile. For OT in coal mines, I don't know how to set specific parameters reasonably.
