Community Repair Café | Team Checklists

This is a collection of checkpoints to help you for a successful community repair cafe

Do not forget to keep the "Café" Scenario in mind, have fun, connect and sever some tea etc. to create a peaceful and good mood environment

Reception Check-List

How to handle participants and devices (record)

[x] Prepare a front desk as reception for the participants with their devices
[x] Define the responsibility for the desk to welcome the community members
[x] Define the areas, scetch a plan for team and participants where to wait and what to do
[x] Use masking tape and a list to record, label and list the devices to be repaired
[x] Prepare a team member to precheck all Items and record the things that need fixing, sort out the ones not easy to fix (where no export/material is available)
[x] Prepare a waiting list to keep record of devices and participants/owners (check-in, check-out):

Toolkeeping Check-List

How to handle the tools and materials

[x] Clear structure and List of Items/picture of Setup
[x] Responsibility defined - Toolkeeper to give out tools and materials to the experts and collect them back
[x] Prepare a list to check-out and check-in the given Items
[x] secure the tool and material area and always keep it clean (else you will lose tools)

Expert Check-List

How to handle the repairs

[x] Prepare all the experts that it is not only about the repair but also about the teaching to fix
[x] Prepare the experts on how to get tools and how to bring them back to the toolkeeper when not in use anymore (sharing is ok, but you are responsible to bring back)
[x] invite the owners of a successful repair to take a picture with the expert
[x] Have a list to document the repairs (also the failures) to have some stats

Collaboration Check-List

How to handle the online reporting etc

[x] have some Team members ready to be there to help with whatever is needed, talk to your Community members, keep the mood up
[x] Online Collaboration will need some equipment (Webcam, Laptop, Smartphone)
[x] Take pictures for documentation to improve and inform your Community
[x] Have someone take the responsibility of reporting in both directions
[x] Invite collaborators before-hand to join your channels
[x] Prepare your online channels (for synchronous or asynchronous collaboration)

@timmwille, I received the below feedback from the repair cafe team. They shared with me some adjustments to the budget based on their assessment yesterday and who will be part of their team for the two days and added an extra $350. Materials - Extra $50 Documentation extra $150 for hiring someone to take professional pictures for the two days. Experts Extra $150. This implies that our budget for Tools and Materials will be $300, documentation will be $ 200 for including and personnel will be $400 as fees for four experts who will join @B-yine @Nunas455 and @sunday767. This makes the overall budget to be at $1400 for the two days event.

Uh, that is a really nice one @yyenki @Nunas455 well organized!! Looks like a mix of ASKotec or https://github.com/B-yine/-ASKriot @B-yine ? and some other repair tools → is there a list of all? would be a really great setup we could share

Need to just add on the list, and unveil the picture of the toolkit created, however extension of the list could be possible, but there seems to be a mixture of #ASkotek and the track two, that requires the office incharge.
