it means created a file patch-Chart8-JAID.patch where line numbers, format, hunk information is compatible.

this is mostly manual work

and then push those unified path to the repo

I think the easier solution is not to create a patch but to create directly the patched version of the file.

It will simplify the manual task and the script and also allows to use the ASTOR patch.

You're right, that's probably much easier and we'll create the patches afterwards automatically.
