Following from #41 and comment here, there might be some value at this stage for the repo to show what both approaches look like.

Which leads to follow-on questions: What are the +s of doing things client side (obvious but we can measure them)?

I think these were coming from "optimizations" that really are not the concern of geoplumber or others around us. Reopen in future if need be.
