@Robinlovelace Remotes: mapdeck fixes the issue with switching layers on zoom, so this PR re-enables the focal layer to not be changed when doing that. The only consequence is that the initial view has no focus, and so is just the globe. As soon as a city is selected, the focus then works perfectly, and stays put when switching layers. My thought is that we can solve the initial focus problem when I re-instate a proper demo layer, which can call it's own initial routine with a hard-coded central lon-lat. Happy to discuss further prior to mergine
