@Robinlovelace I guess there's an easy stplanr routine to do this, right? As we said, just a simple single-constrained spatial interaction model using pop densities as the variable. I'm tentatively assigned you as least as a conversation starter here ...

I haven't fully implemented SI models in stplanr, just have the od_radiate() function which implements Simini et al. (2012) method published in Nature. Not fast or scalable though.
