Virus B - Filter 1 major problem, every saved program defaults to LP setting #54

Since buying this editor, I've been spending many hours organizing and programming my Virus B programs. I just discovered that all the programs that I've saved within the librarian are being saved with Filter 1 set to Low Pass Filter, regardless of which filter I am using when I save the program. This is happening only on Filter 1, not on Filter 2. Filter 2 is saving its setting correctly.

Edit - Saving the program is not causing the problem. Filter 1 is changing to LP even after loading a program directly from hardware. See my reply below for details and example.

Needless to say this looks like a real disaster :( I hope this is not true.

I see a problem in the editor. The Virus B has 4 filters, but Filter 1 in the editor gives 8 options in the pulldown, which is incorrect. The first 4 options (which are correct) are LP, HP, BP & BS, but then there are 4 additional Analog filters in the pulldown. I think these 8 filters are the options for the TI model, not the B. Filter 2 in the editor gives the correct 4 filter options only. So it looks like these incorrect options on Filter 1 may be creating the problem. See screenshots below.

I checked builds 9024 and 9028 and both are acting the same. I'm on Mac OS 10.14, a MacPro 2013.

Do you think my programs stored on my drive (banks are saved as Standard MIDI) have the correct setting for Filter 1 or are they all permanently set to LP??

Hi @JaniKervinen, I'm hoping you can offer some insight here into this Filter 1 issue. I've been spending a lot of time with the application and I'm worried that everything is saving incorrectly. I'm not comfortable continuing to use the app right now. What can I do? Do you have an older build I can try? thank you

To give an example of what is happening: Request Patch Data > All Patches From ROM D. I save bank as Standard MIDI. When I load any single program from Librarian with double click, Filter 1 always is set to LP.

Or, say I have a single program stored in Virus B with Filter 1 set to HP. From Librarian Single Bank Mode, I Get Data From Hardware, or Request Patch Data From Selected Program Slot. I double click the program in Librarian Bank, and it sends it to Part 1. Filter 1 changes to LP right away. So even without saving the bank to disk, the Filter 1 is changing to LP.

@citysoundman I will investigate this further today and will build a new version. It should resolve some other issues too.

on top of that, in filter 1 mode list you can see c) before analog 1p etc, that means it only works on virus c or greater. if some lists have marking a) or b) or c), that usually indicates the capability of the hardware unit itself. I am going to fix those menus today so that they show only relevant information to end user.

Thank you! Please let me know if this problem is the same for your VIrus B, I just want to be sure it's not a problem with my hardware unit.

Ah, OK that makes sense, I didn't realize the C in the menu was for the model.

no problem, menus will be revamped to show only model relevant information in next build :)
