I'm just assuming the target user for this app is "those who prefer to work with a CLI" as mentioned in the introduction of the UG. However, this target group may not be familiar with GFM. But most of the formatting of the new file/editing of the existing file must be done in the CLI and the only way to do it is using GFM (though it does not seem to be working now). Thus, it may not be optimised enough for the target user.
