There is no mention about space causing problems, the fix also mentions alphanumeric characters but tabs completely breaks the function. Once broken, unable to edit at all. Again, it seems that theres some sort of invocation error or exception being thrown. Cant edit even after remedying with valid inputs.

nric error message not descriptive enough. same as #225
