Upgrading Godaddy DNS settings to allow for creation of all the state website subdomains. #170

Problem with subdomains

  1. Standard GoDaddy account allows for a total of 100 records in DNS Zone file, we have only 17 remaining. See image below.
  2. For new state sites approach (domain module) >> total subdomains in drupal = 35 / in godaddy = 3 / need more in godaddy = 33
  3. For old state sites approach (multisite) >> subdomains in use on GoDaddy = 15 (ap, br, gj, goa, hr, ka, ke, mh, mp, nri, od, pb, rj, tn, up)
  4. My suggestion is to delete all subdomains in (3) so we have a today free subdomains = 17+15 = 32
  5. But more subdomains we need = 33 .. see (2)

    Suggested Solution

We can do the following -

  1. Either we DO NOT create state subdomains for some of the sites in the below list?
  2. We upgrade to a premium GoDaddy account, as we could need more subdomains in the future.
  3. We delete all the multisite subdomains .. and more subdomains not being used (some of the dev etc..) and then upgrade GoDaddy in future if required.
