Use Cases:
Describe how you will use this feature if implemented.

All visualizations in GA are built on Flash. Adding crossdomain.xml support
would simplify building ActionScript3/Flash data visualizations with the
Google Analytics API data.

More champagne would rain from heavens.

Actually there is a workaround for the issue with proxy server. I published
information how to configure NGINX for the proxying here

see http://code.google.com/p/gdata-issues/issues/detail?id=406#c181

you will need to use authsub and request in the google group of the API for
them to add a crossdomain.xml

Removing an obsolete label that was used when these issues were in the
gdata-issues project.

what is the status on this issue?
Flash is still the most prevalent plugin for creating RIA type websites. FLash
player 11 now has native JSON decode, so it's built to parse REST API's. But
will always need the "*" added to the domain, (www.google.com) corssdomain.xml
file.

Its simply takes less than 10 seconds to add to the file... not doing so is
just closing your API to Developers who actually what to use the api with the
worlds most mature and capable BROWSER plugin.

Now, with Universal Analytics in Beta, could you please add
www.google-analytics.com/crossdomain.xml file?

With cross-domain-policy set to allow-access-from domain="*". This should
enable direct plugin access (not just Flash).
