Open BScheliga opened 3 years ago
@BScheliga I had been using Mendeley until recently, and switched to Zotero. (But I haven't used it very much yet.) What does the university recommend?
I use EndNote as that's what my old uni had a license for but I have been meaning to switch to zotero. I think I definitely will once my thesis has been submitted.
@dblana I had a look and talk to someone at the library. The university has a licences for RefWorks, which is free for UoA members and the library can provide training etc. However, it would be "mandatory" for us to use it. The problem I see with RefWorks is that it is tied to UoA membership (Student/Staff).
With Zotero, I really like the idea that it usage is not tied to an institutional membership, the option of the group library and Rstudio/Rmarkdown integration.
Ok, Zotero it is 😃
I have recently moved to Zotero with another working group and we did so because it can be analysed with Open Refine and R etc which is helpful for analysing project gaps. The project was on Mendeley before which made it very difficult to export and analyse content.
Zotero has a function of a group library [1], which sounds useful here and can be integrated with RStudio/RMarkdown [2]. Additional, Zotero flags retracted paper in our library [3]. However, Zotero only has 300 MB of free storage [4]
Should we use it? I have only use Mendeley, this far. But, I am happy to change.
