website survey #80

Closed gjwehnes closed 9 years ago

This issue should have been created before any code or branches were added to the website. Better late than never!

We require a survey to obtain empirical data about our end users. This is to guide further development on our website.

A draft of questions have already been posted through the tech club web form.

proposed modifications to survey: -It would be beneficial to have detailed information on the OS that users are running. Can we add a conditional question to the webform asking for detail on OS version (i.e. if Windows, ask if Windows 7, 8, etc) -"Do the in-page iframes work well?" - good question, but please ammend hint to say"..iframes are what we use to show PDFs within the website" (or words to that affect) -"Would you (the user) know where to find the student handbook? (easily, with some searching, or not at all). Or, the CBE password reset tool link? etc." please split into separate questions "Do you prefer iframes to PDFs opening in their own tab?" - could you rework so that both options are listed as possible answers (i.e. "I would prefer that PDFs appear within iFrames / I would prefer that PDFs open in their own tab")

other than that, looks good!

Last commit adding it to master was a mistake and has been resolved, but was not too far away anyways. Changes made and also added new question: "What browser are you currently using to view the website?" as there have been problems specifically related to IE. Now ready to be advertised and then implemented Form was created through the technologyclub.abe@gmail.com therefore results will be viewable through said account.
