TSC Meeting 2022-10-20

Feel free to contribute anything you'd like to see added to the agenda, even if it's a more-specific version of something already listed.

Currently the TSC feels that agenda items brought up by people actually attending the meetings and contributing to discussions takes priority, so I'll be marking down some names on the less-general agenda items in the future and that may influence what order things occur in.

Carryover agenda items that were either potentially unfinished, or not touched at all from the previous TSC meeting were:

• Open Q&A
  • What are your pain points? (Probably will be an ongoing/recurring topic)
  • Where do you most want to see effort put into the project currently?
  • How do we add the most value (and drive further adoption) with the least effort?
• Discuss prioritization efforts, e.g:
  • ASWF matters (finalizing governance.md etc);
  • Identifying and triaging quality-of-life improvements / low-hanging-fruit;
  • Triaging long-standing PRs;
  • Planning / implementation of longer-term features;
• Discuss branch / release workflow
  • Current strategy is simple and linear, which has its downsides
  • Should we move to (e.g.) dev branch and scheduled major releases?

Here is what I have in mind of this TSC meeting. The general ideas is to start to see movement again in the repo.

1. Update on where we are at on ASWF related tasks
2. Plan next release
   • Identify PRs that will go into the next release
   • Assign reviewers
   • Anything else required to get the release done

These to me are the most pressing items.

In addition to the things @JeanChristopheMorinPerso mentioned, I think we could get some easy movement by going through many of the old PR's and Issues -- maybe anything older than 2 years -- and each tagging any that we still think are valuable and and don't require too much rework and then closing the rest.

Agreeing to all of the points brought up so far, i would also like to add stale branches to the list of things to weed through.
