Automated colloidal nanoparticle synthesis is awesome because it is a fully autonomous system that explores two relatively complex search spaces. It involves a liquid handler, a shaker module, spectrophotometry, and a plate reader, with exchange between synthesis and characterization modules via two cobots.
Great video (10 min) in Supplementary information, showing start to finish for a single iteration, and then starting up the second iteration automatically. Inverse design used for ML.
