Simple thing - include copies of the next/previous page buttons on the bottom of the webpage as has been standard web design for at least over 2 decades.
This way, once you reach the bottom of a page, you don't need to scroll back to the top just to go to the next page - especially since, when the next page is loaded, it'll automatically have you at the top of the page anyway.
This applies to at least both the main "home" page of recently updated stories as well as the normal search results.
