Support for External Authentication #6

Is there a plan to support external authentication anytime sooner.

To be honest I have not yet put a date on that. The roadmap is mostly a collection of features that would fit in this module and may be added whenever a customer of mine has that requirement, someone from the community is interested in contributing to this module or I have some spare time (apart from my other open source projects) to work on this.
