Heathgate upload to websites in real time

Hi Greg and Fred I hope that you are well. We have previously looked at arranging real time uploads to the other websites and wondered if this is possible, As we have some unused hours is this something we can do to utilise the spare time? We have spoken to Zoopla and Agents Mutual and they can send over the various codes etc that you may need. Best Viv

Hi Viv,

I started the development on the live feed, and will continue on it this week, hoping to have a test case by the end of the week. Then, Zoopla require 7 day of working feed without error, after which they will switch over from the FTP upload to the new live feed.

I will let you know when we are ready for the testing phase,

Hi Viv,

I am getting an error with the real time feed to Zoopla. I have contacted them with the details and will work with them to fix the issue. I hope it will not impact the 7 days error free target as is seems to be a server error. Will let you know when I hear from them.

Just a quick update on the status of that, I managed to work out the issue with Zoopla team last week, they will provide some feedback on the data tomorrow. The latest changes seems to have stabilized the issues I was ahving so let's hope this is the last leg now. Will keep you posted.

Thanks for the update. Re the Press area of the Home Page when you hit the press button it looks as though there are only the tv and radio interviews is there a way we can do a drop down menu?

Button for instant valuation – we think it should be symmetrical with the online chat button to the bottom left of the screen – can we make it look similar so that when you visit the home page it keeps it clean and symmetrical. Can we make it look similar too for phones/tablets etc.

I added a Press sub menu item under Press, that should make it clearer.

No problem for the button, will make it look very similar. I should be able to implement this tomorrow

You may notice a warning when saving some property on the site, I am aware of the issue and will fix today. This only affect the live feed, ad has some thing to do with some of the postcodes returned by the google API. The bulk upload is still working as it's supposed to.

Hi Viv,

I fixed the issue with the postal code on the live feed. Comparing what is received on the live feed and the bulk one, there's a few discrepancies, for example, Harmood Grove, London NW1 for sale (525k) is present on the live feed, but not on the bulk when looking at zoopla, it is ticked to be exported, so I'm assuming the bulk is wrong?

OK that makes sense,

They are showing in the live feed as sold/let, and probably hidden from normal listing. I have 103 on the live feed right now, including 16 that are sold or let, that leaves me with 87 and the bulk feed has 86, will need to go through the list and see which one is extra and see why it got exported.

I will be working tomorrow on it and on the valuation tool and will keep you updated.

I got an answer from zoopla, the errors with the address on the bulk feed has caused some issue on the live feed as well, and they suggested a few small changes, which I will do tomorrow when I'm back in the office.

Hi Viv,

I fixed another series of issues yesterday, which is mostly handling conversions between their feed and the website data. One thing that came up is that we do not have a field to specify if a property comes furnished or not, and people use that field for their search on their portal; That something we may add at a later time to help you listings.

I am in contact with them on a daily basis now, I will copy you on the next ones so you are updated as well.

Thanks for your feedbacks, I have updated all the properties in the sandbox from the live site, so the property type should be correct for all the properties now and every properties should have a display address. For the link to the under offer property, it has been removed as it's now in sync with the life data, but it has been tested and It shows up properly in the preview.

This images/ordering on the sandbox should be the same than the bulk feed now, it's the same query fetching them.

Finally, I got the green light from Heathgate to implement the Furnished/Unfurnished state, so it should start getting to the feed as soon as it's live.

I was aware of the error below yes, and this was fixed and some validation added. I also managed to find a schema validation library that works, and it was implemented today so the schema errors should be a thing of the past. Looking forward to hear from you.

Hi Viv,

Try re-submitting the broken/missing properties by going into it and save it again. This should be instant and they should appear or be corrected on the zoopla instantly. if it doesn't work I will investigate the cause.

Dear Fred & Greg,

We are still having these issues with photos and as mentioned previously this needs to be resolved asap. We are dead in the water without the correct information loading. I appreciate that this may be a Zoopla issue but I do not have any updates that this is being addressed and it should have been dealt with days ago.

These are the issues that rentals have found. Unfortunately the issue with the photos has not been resolved. I have checked again and as far as I can see the following properties have been affected. You will need to check the back end site against Zoopla.
