There are a few things that can happen "internally" where exceptions from deep within Active Login will be thrown to the consumer of the library. The latest one appeared when the bundled test certificate expired (#382). We could have a look at throwing better exceptions for these scenarios. Adding a list of suggested things here:
Identity at runtime of the certificates have (or are near to) expire
Both bundled and/or the ones provided manually
Tell if more than one client certificate have been registered but no handler to choose what to use
