Licit and compliant newsletter is being blocked #86

Hi I didn't find anyway to ask to whitelist or to review the blacklisting of some domains in your website or GitHub site.

We have a totally compliant, non-spam, newsletter made in SalesForce. All of the images in this newsletter are under one company subdomain (email.v.....com) but they are actually a CNAME of the domains a1843.g.akamai.net y view.virt.s7.exacttarget.com. As you might know, your domain lists are being used by other ads blocking software or aggregated lists like this one: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/StevenBlack/hosts/master/hosts

The result, our totally compliant newsletter is being blocked by 3rd party ad blockers, but we are not spamming or sending advertising. Just a newsletter for our customer about COVID health measures.

So, I ask you to remove all Akamai and ExactTarget subdomains from your list. If you need specific information about our company, this newsletter and our domains (I don't want this information to be public on GitHub), just contact me directly.

So are you speaking on behalf of akamai and exacttarget as a whole or as a specific customer?

When I see stuff like

Send targeted and personalized push notifications.
Use geofence and beacon messaging for location-based campaigns.

Heck, the name ExactTarget sounds like person targeting based on past behavior.

If there are specific subdomains related to sending email newsletters to people- sure I'll remove what is tied to email marketing. This list isn't intended to block that... just android/iOS ad & tracking sdk's. I try to whittle out email or browser-based entries as there are thousands of blocklists made for them. But I'm not inclined to wipe out the whole list of subdomains w/o further research.

My process for these is usually to look at the companies' sites to see what svcs they offer, review their support documentation, and also check sites such as VirusTotal to see if the entry is related to Android on the relations tab. Since this one, for example, is just showing as email & text files I'm going to remove it and check the rest. I hope that makes sense.
