http://stackoverflow.com/a/3730040 for a basic overview of the issue. Since we're not doing any financial calculations it's not a big deal, but this is a widely understood issue and I don't know if our professor cares about it or not.

I do agree with you and the stackoverflow. However with the time constraints and teacher probable does not care I think floats are fine. This no where near a real POS system. It is important to keep in mind for good conventions and practices, thank you Dan.
