Facebook ads started showing today; I’m using Facebook via Safari. I’ve refreshed the AdHGuard app and tried shutting everything down but this hasn’t helped.

https://github.com/AdguardTeam/AdguardFilters/issues/163515#issue-1934152914 not reproduced it on my end. Try to clear browser data, update the filters (wait almost one minute there), open the site. If that doesn't work, you should re-enable the content blockers in Safari settings (wait about the same time as when you update the filters).

https://github.com/AdguardTeam/AdguardFilters/issues/163515#issuecomment-1754897124 don't have an iPad, but on iPhone don't see that as said earlier. @Alex-302 @jellizaveta @Sergey-Lyapin please take a look at this.

Ok, I’ve done all of that, still showing ads

Unfortunately, I don't have it. Is advanced protection enabled? Let's wait for my colleagues' response.

shaz99-99 commented 1 year ago

I’ve refreshed several times and ads are still showing in Facebook - not in any other website I’ve used

Not blocking all sponsored posts on facebook. To reproduce, go to facebook and be inundated with ads.

Is this being worked on? The ads on Facebook are still showing, I’ve refreshed the AdGuard app several times and not seeing any difference.

Alex-302 commented 1 year ago

Can't reproduce ad posts without AdGuard.

@AdamWr @BlazDT Please take a look.

BlazDT commented 1 year ago

Only seeing suggested posts without AdGuard, no ads.

AdamWr commented 1 year ago

I can reproduce it, but only with Safari extension, it looks like JavaScript rules are blocked by website's Content Security Policy.

shaz99-99 commented 1 year ago

This is what I’m seeing this morning

whaler-ragweed commented 1 year ago

I can reproduce it on MacOS and iOS.

shaz99-99 commented 1 year ago

I can reproduce it on MacOS and iOS.

That’s reassuring! Thank you

AdamWr commented 1 year ago

It seems that it's not a filters issue, but the problem is that advanced rules are blocked by website's Content Security Policy (happens with Safari/Firefox extension and app for iOS) . It has been reported here - https://github.com/AdguardTeam/AdGuardForSafari/issues/917

shaz99-99 commented 1 year ago

Is this being addressed? Ads continue to show

AdamWr commented 1 year ago

I suppose that it will not be fixed until this issue - https://github.com/AdguardTeam/AdGuardForSafari/issues/917 is resolved, then it will be necessary to update the app for iOS. So, I guess that it may take some time.

shaz99-99 commented 12 months ago

This issue seems to be getting worse, ads are much more prevalent. Is this issue going to be assigned to someone to work on?

BlazDT commented 12 months ago

Related issue is already assigned.

It is possible to remove all facebook ads in app? Also on instagram? And also in messenger between messages. Maybe you could find some trick as hide ads by meta. Because you could hide google ads into browser. I hope that in fb ig mes apps will be possible too. Thanks

Yes. These apps cannot be filtered even on Android. On iOS we can filter only DNS requests from apps.
