Cannot reproduce. After 5 songs ad was blocked, only blinked for a half of second image

@piquark6046 @Sergey-Lyapin Please take a look.

piquark6046 commented 6 months ago

Spotify does not accept creating a free account in South Korea. Using Proton VPN to create one does not help for me.

Sergey-Lyapin commented 6 months ago

The leftover of the ad just flashes for a split second. Can't capture the moment.

I often get advertisements that appear in the middle of songs then I tried to open a full album from the beginning while recording the HAR, and I got an ad when switching songs from third to fourth

example of a HAR file that I recorded (inside ZIP) open.spotify.com.zip

Caching was not disabled, and I see nothing useful. Could you please record gain?

do you mean this? it is disabled while recording image

Alex-302 commented 6 months ago

@abidjauhar17 Yes. Before reproducing and saving, page reload is required with opened devtools.

oh I understand now. When I see the ad I mean, I have to reload the page with devtools open

OK, I'll try it again

No, open devtools, and after that - the site, and wait for ads as usual)

abidjauhar17 commented 6 months ago

@Alex-302 I've recorded it again and this time tried to play from the first song to the tenth and found the same thing (there was an ad at the transition from the third to the fourth song) and also from the ninth song to the tenth song image I didn't have time to screenshot the ad from the third song to the fourth song

HAR file open.spotify.com.zip

Alex-302 commented 6 months ago

@abidjauhar17 Same - no content.

That requests must be modified by ||audio-ak*-spotify-com.akamaized.net/audio/$media,~xmlhttprequest,redirect=noopmp4-1s,domain=spotify.com

Do you have original Chrome?

abidjauhar17 commented 6 months ago

@Alex-302 I don't have Chrome. I use Opera btw Does it have to be on Chrome?

Alex-302 commented 6 months ago

I don't know, but you may test.

Alex-302 commented 6 months ago

Checked in Opera - ad is blocked (blinks for a second with old filters).

Fabian42 commented 6 months ago

Audio ads still play at the beginning of every episode except 1 and trailer in this podcast: https://open.spotify.com/show/1TthQOE4Fx6gBPW8l48cfN The issue seems be caused by a somewhat recent change to Spotify (at most a few months old), all other adblockers also fail at this (browser extensions, modifications to clients, completely custom clients, downloaders, …).

Alex-302 commented 6 months ago

@Fabian42 Could you please record a HAR file?

@AdamWr Can you reproduce it? On my end after 14 songs I see blocked ad request and hidden banners.

AdamWr commented 6 months ago

No, I cannot. Usually there is visible notice that ad is playing (like in https://github.com/AdguardTeam/AdguardFilters/issues/174893#issuecomment-1998861463) and I don't see anything like that on mentioned podcasts. Ads between songs are automatically skipped after 1 second by this rule:

||audio-ak*-spotify-com.akamaized.net/audio/$media,~xmlhttprequest,redirect=noopmp4-1s,domain=spotify.com

on my end.

Fabian42 commented 6 months ago

This will have to wait until the 6th of April at least. I am on my last bits of mobile data and getting "too many requests" for some reason.

Fabian42 commented 6 months ago

I still get 429 or sometimes 403, I cannot open Spotify at all. I give up, Spotify is sh*t.
