If one browse to this site by the real url of spiegel.de, then no ads are shown. But if one becomes the newsletter from spiegel.de, then ads are shown. The source url in the spiegel.de newsletter has no spiegel.de url basis but consists of many redirects. After many redirects adblocker seems not to filter correctly or blocks only ads of source url and not the real url after many redirects.

Are you on iPad with iPadOS? Not reproduced on iPhone on desktop view. Next week my new iPad should arrive (2019 model) and then I can check better.

Valenteriano commented 5 years ago

Yes, iPad OS 13.1.2 - I thought this should be similar to iOS (iPhone OS) - perhaps they use geo fences, or do you think this can not be a problem?

bit15 commented 5 years ago

Their news redirect domain does not work at the moment. I think their redirect server is overloaded now. I tried this newsletter url on an iPhone, but their server does not respond.

BlazDT commented 5 years ago

Geolocation is not the problem, I connect with German IP to test. It is usually the desktop view which seems to trigger the adblock detection (and therefore the ad reinjection).

bit15 commented 5 years ago

their newsletter email server seems to be heavily overloaded - only gateway timeouts

bit15 commented 5 years ago

It seems they use https://static.newsletter2go.com/index.php?n2g=mc5o7z9j-e85qdtom-7kfov4fq-181p as one redirect ...

Added to German filter, update available in about 3 hours.

Have to check if I have to add safari cb affinity to filter lists in a few hours.

BlazDT commented 5 years ago

Working fine here without affinity :)

bit15 commented 5 years ago

I hope I do not open this, but nevertheless I want to thank you for your great work.

I confirm it works for me, too.

I only have a question. What do you mean with cb affinity?

BlazDT commented 5 years ago

It was as an internal reminder for me and for filter devs.

bit15 commented 5 years ago

Oh ok, I did not think an english word "affinity" exists, as I have bought for windows and macos affinity photo and affinity designer. I thought, as I also bought affinity photo for iOS, it has installed anything on the system, which causes ads. But at the same time as I know iOS technically a bit I wondered, what could have done the installation of the app on the system. But at last this shows only indirectly that I am not a native english speaker. :-)
