Just read the comments below. They could send their collected data to https://haveibeenpwned.com/ for example and release their tracking code public.

In my opinion they should do the following:

1. Do the data collection Ghostery-way (clearly state that they do it, make it opt-in).
2. Publish the source code.
3. Be transparent on what data is collected and what exactly is being sold.
