Ask a question

Hello,

First of all, I'm not sure if I created my problem in the right place or if I should report such problems directly from the "Support" section within the application for the Windows version of Adguard...

Question; There are Google adverts in WeMod's desktop application, Adguard does not automatically interfere with these adverts. I added WeMod's .exe file between Network Settings > Filtered applications from the Adguard application and restarted WeMod, but this did not work. I wonder if it is possible to block adverts in WeMod with Adguard Windows version?

@smilefate Greetings! Please, answer this questions:

  1. Which operation system do You use?
  2. Which version of AdGuard do You use? I've installed WeMod and didn't see any ads, I use AdGuard v7.18.1. Also, please, specify, in which WeMod's section ads from the screenshot has appeared, I can't read turkish.
  3. Any antiviruses/another apps that works with traffic?

Anyway, if this bug will recur on latest AdGuard's versions, I kindly ask You to record debug logs. Don't forget to write down the exact time of bug's appearance.

@smilefate Thank You, we'll examine it. I edited your comment - deleted the link with archive, because it can contain sensitive information. Also, at what time bug was reproduced?

I've been seeing adverts in the app for a few days now, maybe they appeared after an update... I'm not entirely sure, I use this app a few times a month and I haven't seen adverts before.

Note: If I need to open a topic again later and share Debugging information, could you please tell me which files from the debug folder I should share.

@smilefate Greetings! Sorry for the delay. In the first message You wrote that You added WeMod's .exe file to "Filtered applications". As I see, there's two of them - in "C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\WeMod\app-9.7.0\WeMod.exe" and in "C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\WeMod\WeMod.exe". Which exe file did You add? Or You have different path to it at all?

Hello,

Before I created this topic, I tried the filtered apps feature for the first time and it didn't work, so I removed Wemod from the list after I created the topic, so now Wemod is not among the filtered apps.

However, in the last few days I noticed that the ads are no longer there when using Wemod. I don't know how it happened, but I don't see ads in WeMod anymore and since you mentioned filtered apps again, which must be useful, I'm adding Wemod.exe from the second file path you shared back to the list of filtered apps, because the first file path seems to be for a specific version 🤔.

Note: I was getting ads in a similar way when I was using the Curseforge modding tool, so I added it to the list of filtered apps, but I had to disable HTTPS connection filtering. Because with HTTPS filtering enabled, the content in the program could not be loaded, so I turned it off and filtered the app normally and now I don't see ads in this app either. Great job Adguard team ♥

@smilefate Thank You, glad to hear it! So, I close this issue, but feel free to re-open it, if ads in your app will come back.
