[feature-request] don't list CNAME's in Activity Log #2192

Prerequisites

Problem Description

@AdguardTeam PLEASE consider not listing CNAME's in the Activity Log.It's very confusing and it really doesn't help having them there. I ended up double blocking domains, also a CNAME can host more then one domain, one can be bad and the rest OK so it's allways risky blocking CNAME's without doing extensive research first. Anyone can click on the domain and see it's CNAME if they desire. No need to make it more complicated for the regular folk like myself 😉 . Simple allways works. Thank you as allways 👍

Proposed Solution

List ONLY A and AAAA domains in the Activity Log. NO CNAME's

@dnmTX Hi! Disabling the Advanced mode option removes additional information from the queries in the recent activity log, so this feature is already implemented.

dnmTX commented 1 year ago

@Versty could you be more specific please. If by Disabling the Advanced mode you mean this: IMG how is that a solution,or better yet...."a feature"??????? I wonder now what would be your next answer, maybe uninstall the app(why bother using it,right?) or maybe throw the phone away????????????????????????????

At leats REOPEN this issue so to be considered by the dev team. Never expected such a ignorance to be honest!!!!!! PING @ameshkov

@dnmTX I feel like there is some misunderstanding between the two of us, I apologize for that. Let's take a closer look at the feature you are asking for.

Please post the screenshots of the recent activity log and highlight the CNAME's you suggest to remove.

This is just a small example:

IMG_0014 IMG_0015 IMG_0016

.....and before you tell me that it's by design or whatever. No it's not and i'm pretty sure that can be easily corrected. The activity logs in AdGuard for Windows are nowhere even close to such a mess.

Also ON/OFF Switch for the Activity Logs would be a great feature. This is just extra background activity/battery usage that could be prevented.

@dnmTX The application is currently goes through code refactoring process. This improvement will be considered for the future versions.
