Enabling AdGuard Browser Assistant on Arc for Windows Causes Crash #113

Closed CyberFoxTech closed 3 months ago

Please answer the following questions for yourself before submitting an issue.

AdGuard version

- AdGuard Assistant version: 1.3.40
- AdGuard Desktop application: 7.16.0 (4542)

Environment

- OS: Windows
- Browser: Arc for Windows - 0.11.0.12143 (0000)

Issue Details

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Download Arc Browser Assistant
  2. Enable "Legacy Assistant" in Desktop Application
  3. Add Arc.exe to "List of filtered applications"
  4. Open Arc and load any website. I used YouTube to test.

Expected Behavior

Arc filters the webpage like any other browser. Hopefully full support will come at some point but for now, "legacy assistant" support.

Actual Behavior

Arc crashes once the filtered webpage loads and then will not open until it is changed to "unfiltered". Extension says enabled when filtering is disabled but ads still appear.

Additional Information

Arc is a beta browser on Windows. I have submitted a ticket to the Arc team as well. Informed them I would also create a ticket for the extension.

@CyberFoxTech Hello! Both AdGuard Legacy Assistant and AdGuard Browser Assistant work fine on the Arc browser with AdGuard for Windows 7.17 nighlty enabled.

The problem with browser crash after restart with enabled filtering is on the Arc browser side. We have already contacted the browser developers and informed them about the problem.
