I run AdGuard Home on my MacBook Pro. It listens on 127.0.0.1 and only accepts connections from 127.0.0.0/8. It does no filtering of its own, and just points upstream to AdGuard's Private DNS (DoQ). When trying to set the AdGuard VPN app to use 127.0.0.1 for DNS, the connection completes but no web pages will resolve or load. The VPN app then says disconnected, and web pages load again (even though kill switch is enabled). If I change the AdGuard VPN DNS setting back to a regular sdns upstream (AdGuard Private DNS) or set it to Default, everything works perfectly again with no disconnects. Any time the VPN DNS is set to 127.0.0.1 it connects, doesn't work and then says disconnected. I have tried allowing all connections/clients in AGH but this didn't help.
