Ressources attached to events #576

For a club or a camp-school or other communities where You have members and activities for these members, You sometime have the need to keep track of, which equipment You will be able to use for an event. It could be for a meeting where You want to use a video-projector and a laptop. Equipment = ressource. Today You can do this for a room. For a tennis-club a lane could be a ressource. If You had ( much the same as with rooms ) that You could create an equipment (= ressource ) and a text for this equipment/ressource. Then You could attach one or more ressources to an event. ( as the room - but with more than one) And there should be check that use of a ressource could not overlap ( as it is made for the room )

You should have a filter-possibility on the event-list ( where You now can filter on ) Calendar from to You should here also have Room ( with a dropdown that shows existing rooms ) - default is ALL ( shown when room-module is checked) Ressource ( with a dropdown that shows existing ressources ) - default is ALL - shown when ressource module is checked. This could be a simple way to show which equipment is used in a specified periode.

You can then see if a room and/or a ressource is occupied in the time where You want to have YOUR event. You can not see for a time period, but You can see for a day or for several days. Then - when You do not on the list, see the room or the ressource You want to use, then You can use/attach the ressource or room to Your event, and then no other can use this/these ressources in the time Your event spans.

I think before we are able to do things like that we need first to have the inventory module completed. This may be something in future.

When I suggested this, I was not aware that there is an inventory module coming. later I found an inventory folder and asked on the forum about how to test this. Ximex responded me, that this is something that the team is working on. Is there some description for this inventory stuff ?

Stefan is in Charge with this module. As I know there is a lot of stuff open to do at this time. This is why the module is not active yet.
