Add a Game Boy player backup tool to swiss gc

I have a bunch of Game Boy (and Color) games that I need to backup, because 
some of them have a battery that can run out anytime, causing the saves to be 
erased. I have explored any possibilities, from buying a (now rare) Gameboy 
dumper, to dump saves with GC link cable or N64 Transfer pak, but any of them 
is expensive or technically not possible.
While I have already dumped GBA saves thank to my NDS and a homebrew app, I 
think...is it possibile to replicate this such fashionable way with the GC + 
Gameboy Player? Because I have already a Gameboy Player attached to my GC and I 
haven't found anything on internet how to backup from GB/GBA cartridge...

Please, I need to backup my saves before it's too late and I lose them forever!

I don't think I could add this, maybe via the Advance Game Port.

You could buy a 64drive ($199) and a Transfer Pak and dump them on your N64 
with http://lacklustre.net/n64/agbd/
