Hi there, I had the same problem. This is all, because it prompts to install
BusyBox.
Just pres the back button when you open the bcMon and approve the installation
of BusyBox.
Hope I helped,
Best Regards,
Nasko

I have tetra note 7 running android JB 4.3. I don't get the request to
install firmware, it just goes straight to "firmware : not detected".when I
use the back button, it stops working and returns to the home screen. I am
fully rooted and I have busybox installed and running.

I had the same problem before installed Busybox X+, bcmon worked then! But
because of busybox X+ my device won't boot, getting circular FC's... so where
this problem hiding?
Try X version, but make complete backup before applying install!

Found solution for me! bcmon doesn't support busybox 1.22.1 (AOSP/KitKat4.4.4)!
There are steps which I done:
*Backup everything!!!
*Install older busybox v.1.21.1
*install firmware from bcmon (check how it works)
*If it works fine, you can stay on older version or update to newer, BUT if you
use int2ext like me, DO NOT REBOOT... update to newer busybox immediately,
otherwise you will lose connection with ext partition and probably you will get
lots of FC's!!!
To developer: man, do something with that, please!:)

When I press the bcmon icon on upper left corner it unfortunatly stops.
